He is a fantastic instructor with nearly 20 years of experience in the ocean. I had a mix of experiences during my stay. The location is beautifully remote, sitting right in front of a rugged beach, but it can feel isolated. The rooms were large but basic, and the Aircon was a must due to the heat. While my experience with the snorkeling tour was fantastic, dining was definitely underwhelming with a limited menu. Overall, it has potential for a quiet getaway, but you'll need to manage your expectations.

I had a truly relaxing experience at North Borneo Biostation, surrounded by beautiful nature and the stunning Sulu Sea. The chalets were clean and spacious, providing an excellent view of the beach. The dive courses offered were fantastic, especially with such knowledgeable instructors. However, the dining experience left much to be desired, and there were some issues with cleanliness on the beach. Overall, a great peaceful stay, but there's room for improvement in the dining area.
